The latest motor control board for the OpenFlexure Microscope.
Can control up to 4 unipolar stepper motors (1 extra for advanced uses such as moving illumination), with 2 high current PWM channels to control illumination (or heating) and a constant current driver for LEDs.
See OpenFlexure forums for more details. It comes fully assembled with a stackable pin header for connecting to the Raspberry Pi. Manufactured in beautiful purple PCB with ENIG surface finish (green photo shows an earlier development version).
This board will power the Raspberry Pi, so you only need a single power supply for the microscope (USB-C, at least 3A).
To control the illumination brightness from the OpenFlexure software (or upgrade the board's firmware), use the Sangaboard Extension for OFM Software.
If you are using the board at high temperatures or with high power LEDs, consider getting the heatsink kit (or adding your own heatsinks).
